St. Lawrence Of Brindisi LENTEN SERMONS Volume One This translation of the Lenten Sermons of Saint Lawrence of Brindisi represents the second volume of his works made available to the English reading public. The sermons represent meditations on the Gospels for the Sundays and weekdays of Lent, with the exception of Saturdays, and correspond to the texts prescribed in the Roman Missal of that day. The first sermon is almost always followed by a second sermon, usually shorter, in which the author summarizes the main thoughts of the first sermon and at times adds another dimension to the preceding sermon. As in the earlier edition of his Mariale, these sermons are also filled with numerous Scriptural quotations, so that at times it seems that a sermon is a continuing succession of Scriptural quotations that have been masterfully blended together to convey the author's message.
