St. Lawrence Of Brinclisi LENTEN SERMONS Volume Two Part - 1 This second volume of Saint Lawrence's Lenten Sermons is undoubtedly one of the better organized editions put out by the Latin editors. The sermons follow a chronological order and are much more logically arranged and represent a much more developed and finished content than some of the sermons in earlier editions of his works, which sometimes tended to be fragmented and often left incomplete. These sermons, however, represent a much more logical and full development. With the exception of Quinquagesima Sunday, all sermons have at least one additional sermon which may recapitulate the principal ideas of an earlier sermon but also often represent a new approach. This volume begins with a few introductory sermons for the feast of Saint Matthias, followed by sermons also for the Sixth Sunday after Epiphany, Septuagesima, Sexagesima, and Quinquagesima Sundays, as a kind of prelude to the Lenten sermons. But then the author, so to say, tackles the matter at hand and begins the Lenten Sermons in earnest with six sermons for Ash Wednesday.
